Alice V. Myers Archives Center

The Alice V. Myers Archives Center is a collection of thousands of unique historical documents pertaining to the history of our community. The Archives Center includes family histories and genealogy, biographies, information about specific subject areas (such as transportation, agriculture, etc.) as well as records from local business and community organizations.

The Historical Records Library keeps the official records for the county; our collection is only made up of things that have been donated. This means that research can be hit or miss. We have a lot of information about certain subjects and organizations— because those groups have donated their records.

Donations

We always welcome new archive donations. If you’re interested in making a contribution, please make an appointment using the contact area below. Even if you are not willing to give up your documents, we’d be happy to scan them so that the Archive Center will have a digital copy, but you can take the original back home with you!

Digitization Project

We’re in the process of digitizing our archives! Volunteers are working to scan the historic documents in our Archive Center, enter data into the computer system, and make these sources accessible to researchers through useful search terms.

By joining in on this effort, you will be helping to preserve our archives for future generations and you might just make some exciting discoveries in the process! No special skills are required. Please call or submit the Volunteer Interest Form if you are interested in volunteering.
